DroidDeck’s Android game results varied by title: on a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, Damien Wilde reported both a locked 60 fps in one game and another that failed to launch. His hands-on review was published November 5, 2026.

A strong result for one game is a datapoint, not a compatibility promise for the rest of your library.

What the Galaxy S25 Ultra test found

DroidDeck is an Android project that launches Steam Big Picture and runs compatible PC games locally on the device. Wilde’s results below are from his tests on the Galaxy S25 Ultra:

  • Portal 2: 1080p at a locked 60 fps.
  • Burnout Paradise Remastered: 1080p, generally near 60 fps, with dips into the high 40s.
  • Dave the Diver: sometimes below 45 fps in busy scenes.
  • Batman: Arkham Knight: around 30–40 fps at 720p, with further drops in scenes loading more assets.
  • Cyberpunk 2077: failed to launch in Wilde’s test.

That spread is useful context if you’re weighing local Steam gaming on a phone: the result for one title doesn’t predict what another will do. Wilde also identified Adreno 730 or newer as the minimum GPU class and recommended a processor one generation newer than Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 for a smoother initial experience.

What the separate video demonstrates

Spanish-language footage from Esto es Retro shows DroidDeck gameplay, including an online Among Us session and a Linux desktop with RetroArch

A Spanish-language Esto es Retro video published September 25, 2026, features presenter Uriel demonstrating Steam Big Picture on Android. The footage shows God of War running at 30 fps with frame generation enabled, an online Among Us session, tests of Half-Life and Grand Theft Auto V, and a Linux desktop with RetroArch. A viewer in the comments specifically asked about online games with anti-cheat; the multiplayer session shown is Among Us.

Setup requirements and storage estimates

Droid-Deck Guide lists Android 9 or later and says root access isn’t required. It labels version 0.6.9 as published on October 31, 2026, and lists a 73.1 MB APK. Those are the guide’s listings for that version.

The same guide estimates about 3 GB for the environment and another 1.1 GB for the desktop and emulators. Together, that’s roughly 4.1 GB before game files. For setup, Wilde advised choosing a Proton translation layer and enabling the custom Mesa Turnip drivers in the app settings. NeoTeo’s earlier DroidDeck installation guide covers the installation side of the topic.

Heat, battery and internal storage

Wilde reported heat-related throttling, fast battery drain and pressure on internal storage. In his account, demanding 3D gameplay could drain a full charge in under an hour.
