For example, Dallas in summer could exceed 40 degrees, while in Pittsburgh they were freezing. The RoboCop suit wasn't ready by the start of filming, and although it didn't change the schedule, it denied Peter Weller the chance to rehearse more.
Weller could barely see anything in the suit, and he lost 1.5 kg per day in fluids due to the heat. The tension between Weller and Verhoeven reached a point where Weller was fired, and they even considered bringing Lance Henriksen as a replacement. Since the suit had been designed especially for Weller, they had to find a way to tolerate each other a bit better. It's even said that Verhoeven ended up filming several scenes medicated and drunk due to stress.
