Futurama is one of the few shows that still holds the love and loyalty of its fans. More than three years have passed since its final episode, and nobody has lost hope for an additional season, because if there is one thing Futurama has accustomed us to, it's its long pauses. However, what we have here today is the fan film Fan-O-Rama, directed by Dan Lanigan and developed by the folks at Cinema Relics. All the actors are flesh and blood, and the effects are more than decent.
A Live-Action Love Letter
Personally, I've been an occasional follower of Futurama. I didn't miss a single episode of the first season, but as time went on, my regularity went down the drain. Still, I managed to catch some isolated gems, and "that" episode I refuse to talk about (because otherwise I'll cry on the keyboard).
For those who want to catch up or start from the beginning, there are 140 episodes of 22 minutes each — more than fifty hours that could be resolved with a well-organized marathon. But that's not enough for some fans, which brings us to Fan-O-Rama, a recent live-action Futurama fan film that has been in development for a while.

The short is precise, full of details, and most importantly, it laughs at itself. It doesn't last more than 18 minutes, and its second half is basically the Hypnotoad. Unfortunately, it doesn't have Spanish subtitles (you'll have to enable automatic translation, with rather weird results), but those who can follow English subtitles should have no major problems. The story is split between Fry and Bender trying to win beer for life, an unstable mass destruction device that Professor Farnsworth sold on eBay, Leela wanting to kill Fry and Bender, and an alien ship shooting.
Yes, the cliffhanger in Fan-O-Rama is huge, and unless those responsible get funding for a continuation (they've already written the script), the story will most likely stay there. We also have no idea how Fox will react once the fan film gains more exposure. Its reception so far has been very good, and I think all Futurama fans should see it.
