A fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise is about to make his own version as a film. Take a look at the Ninja Turtles fan film titled Ninja Turtles: Blood Brothers.
Scotty Fields is a special effects artist with fifteen years of experience working on series and films such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly, Citizen Toxie: The Toxic Avenger IV, Hellboy II: The Golden Army and Star Trek Beyond. Scotty is a self-confessed fanatic of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise, especially of the original movies that came out in the early '90s. His current main project is making his own Ninja Turtles movie, and for that he has just partnered with the special effects studio Blood Brothers FX.
A Fan Film That Brings Back the Whole Gang
The project is called Ninja Turtles: Blood Brothers, a Ninja Turtles fan film that will feature all the main characters of the franchise. Yes, no two or three characters only, as is usually seen in recent movies. This short film will feature Leatherhead, Krang, Triceraton, Baxter Stockman and his Mouser robots, Fugitoid, Usagi Yojimbo, Casey Jones, Master Splinter, Shredder and the Foot Clan, Bebop, Rocksteady, Rat King, April O'Neil and, of course, the Turtles. To carry out this project, Scotty ran a campaign on Indiegogo to raise funds among fans.
Funding, Rewards and a First Look at Bebop and Rocksteady
The project needs $40,000 to be funded. The most interesting part of this campaign is that the most generous contributors will receive gifts such as the masks used during filming, t-shirts, a copy of the movie, and several more surprises. In the brief trailer you can see the duo of Bebop and Rocksteady doing their thing in an alley. The design of both characters looks a lot better than what was seen in the recent Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows movie, and that is already a point in favor of supporting this project. Directed by Scotty Fields (Marvel Zombies: The Movie), Ninja Turtles: Blood Brothers features performances by Shannon Murray (Oz the Great and Powerful) as April O'Neil, and Carl Soto and Alan Maxson in the roles of Bebop and Rocksteady.
