During the Uncovered: Final Fantasy XV event held in Los Angeles, Square Enix presented several new looks at the long-awaited Final Fantasy XV, along with a new movie and anime.
Platinum Demo
The Uncovered: Final Fantasy XV event, organized by Square Enix in Los Angeles, was packed with content for the upcoming Final Fantasy XV. Several videos were shown, including a new demo titled Platinum Demo, which takes you to a fragmented dreamlike landscape and invites you to discover an original story with unique twists. Here, you must accompany young Noctis and his magical guide, Carbuncle, to explore the fantastic world of his dreams in this small action-adventure. New Trailer
A new trailer titled “Reclaim Your Throne” was also shown, offering more details about Prince Noctis’s road trip with his best friends. Apparently, the adventure will take you through a series of challenges in a spectacular open world filled with creatures of unimaginable proportions, such as the enormous Titan that confronts Noctis. In addition, the video is accompanied by an iconic cover of “Stand by Me” by Florence + the Machine. Final Fantasy XV is being developed by Square Enix and will be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 30, 2016.
Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV
Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV, one of the event’s surprises, is a film made entirely in CGI. The story is told from the perspective of King Regis, while Final Fantasy XV follows Prince Noctis’s journey. In this film, the two stories intertwine in an exciting tale starring a father and his son, while delving deeper into the mysteries of the game’s world. With impressive computer-generated imagery using the most advanced technology, Kingsglaive is a full-fledged action movie that takes the series a step further, offering an epic adventure for everyone.
Directed by Takeshi Nozue (Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children), the film features the voices of Sean Bean (The Lord of the Rings) as King Regis, Lena Headey (Game of Thrones) as Lady Luna, and Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad) as Nyx. Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV will be released digitally and via streaming before the game’s launch. It will also be available on Blu-ray in the deluxe and collector’s editions of Final Fantasy XV, which will be released on September 30, 2016.
Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV
Finally, they presented Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV, an anime that serves as a prequel, delving into the extraordinary bonds of friendship that unite Prince Noctis and his three comrades, thus preparing the way for the adventure you’ll undertake in the action RPG on which it is based. This anime is being developed by A-1 Pictures (Sword Art Online and Black Butler) and will consist of five episodes that will be available before the game’s launch. All of them can be watched for free on the official Final Fantasy XV on YouTube channel.
Each episode lasts about ten minutes and its plot is related to the events of Platinum Demo. Brotherhood will also be included in the collector’s edition of Final Fantasy XV, adding a sixth episode. Note that the episodes are in Japanese audio with English subtitles, and for now there is no option to watch them in Spanish.
