Final Trailer of Star Wars IX: The Rise of Skywalker

We're two months away from the end of one of the most important fantasy sagas in history. Though it has become a saga that has worsened in narrative quality since the spectacular original trilogy, it remains a major event for fandom and the industry. After 42 years, Star Wars IX: The Rise of Skywalker arrives, and its new trailer is here.

Yes, we've reached the end, or at least that's what the trailer tells us. Confidence about the saga's closure is always uncertain, especially with Disney, which absorbed George Lucas's company in 2012. However, the mouse company's plans are focused on new stories and especially on taking advantage of the new streaming platform that will arrive in a few days and includes four confirmed series: "The Mandalorian", "Obi-Wan" (without confirmed name) the new series that will again star Ewan McGregor, the seventh season of the animated series "Clone Wars", and finally a live-action series about the spinoff "Rogue One".

This preview brings us the epic of the closing, where we see the rebels having a final fight against the empire, led by Kylo Ren... or by Palpatine? The doubt remains even in this trailer, since we don't see the franchise's most evil villain, but we keep hearing his voice and seeing his throne (did he survive the destruction of the Death Star II?) and we ask ourselves: is he alive? Will he be a ghost or perhaps a hologram? The questions are many but the answers so far are none.

In the trailer we can see an easter egg that refers to the successful animated series "Rebels". It's "Ghost", the mythical ship commanded by Hera Syndulla and carrying the series' crew. Although the ship model is the VCX-100, it has a very similar aesthetic. Worth mentioning that this same ship appeared in Rogue One and Hera was mentioned, but remember that Rise of Skywalker takes place 30 years after the spinoff that recounts the theft of the plans of the first Death Star. Anyway, a possible appearance of any of these characters arouses our curiosity.

Remember that this last part of the saga will be directed by J.J Abrams and written by J.J along with Chris Terrio (Argo). The known cast will include: Daisy Ridley (Rey), Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), John Boyega (Finn), Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron), Mark Hamill (Luke), Carrie Fisher (Leia Organa), Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian), Joonas Suotamo (Chewbacca), Lupita Nyong'o (Maz Kanata), Kelly Marie Tran (Rose Tico), Anthony Daniels (C3PO), Ian McDiarmid (Palpatine), Billie Lourd (Lieutenant Connix), Naomi Ackie, Richard E. Grant (General Pryde) and Keri Russell (Zorii Bliss).
