If you feel your environment is too quiet to study, work, or just hang out, you can't go wrong with Lofi Girl and its fabulous selection of tracks. However, there are some alternatives out there with a more “experimental” profile, so to speak. One of them is Flowful, which invites you to enjoy ambient music created mostly with procedural generation, so that its tracks are infinite and suffer no interruptions.
Personally, I admit that I work better with silence around me, but there are many people who feel exactly the opposite and need some acoustic company at all times, whether it's their favorite music, radio streams, podcasts, or the TV on in the background. That explains the absolute success of well-known projects like Lofi Girl, but if you're willing to try something different, you should lend your ear to Flowful, a platform with infinite ambient music.
Flowful: Procedural Music for Your Work Environment
How exactly does that work? Flowful's FAQ section explains that the music is created from small audio samples made by a human, combined with random elements. The end result is a unique yet identifiable sound that isn't subject to traditional interruptions or pauses (like track changes or fade in / fade out).
The first time you visit Flowful, the site will ask you to select one of five available styles: Binaural Beats, Classic, Alpha Brainwave, Atmospheric and Ambient Videogames. The rest is a matter of pressing Play and letting the music flow, but you can jump from one style to another at any time, and there's also the possibility of creating a special acoustic combo by adding noise, frequencies, or sounds from real spaces (light rain, café, and library).
Flowful has no playback limits or time restrictions, and you don't need to create an account to enjoy its procedural music.
