The market for "gamer" accessories has spiraled completely out of control. Practically every computer device now comes with a futuristic animal design, built-in RGB, or both at once. From mice to chairs, headphones, keyboards, and even entire desks, this trend is here to stay. So what's next on the list? Let's see… how does a bed sound? It's no joke: the Japanese company Bauhutte offers on its official page the "Gēmingubeddo", specially designed for those who want to game… and live in bed.
Today it's not enough to have a "gamer" keyboard or mouse… or at least, that's what the market says. The most demanding enthusiasts now "need" specialized chairs, desks that adjust their height with the touch of a button, advanced mousepads, and a constant overdose of RGB, which supposedly increases the frame rate of games by 25 FPS (!). So what's the most extreme case? What kind of accessory can take us to the next level? A wheel and pedal system? A flight sim cockpit? None of that: the answer is… a bed.
Make way for the Gēmingubeddo from Japanese company Bauhutte. Every gamer's day starts the same way: getting out of bed to go to the desk or the sofa. Why perpetuate such a complicated and exhausting pattern? With the help of the Gēmingubeddo, players can save energy and focus better on their matches, keeping physical effort to a minimum.
The bed is available in two editions: a standard one, and a "deluxe" one that includes a puff (which essentially turns the bed into a chair), a table for your main peripherals, another table to hold your favorite junk food, and a shelf that can hold dozens of energy drink cans.
If my Japanese and the currency conversion process don't betray me, the standard Bauhutte Gēmingubeddo costs 530 euros, while the full version reaches 1,050 euros. The bed took Twitter by storm a couple of days ago, and the memes didn't take long to arrive, starting with the inevitable association with the humans from the movie WALL-E.
Meanwhile, on the other side are those who defend the product, thinking about the possibility that someone might need to stay in bed for very long periods due to medical reasons. Now, a question for you: If you had the money and the space, would you buy it?
