Small speakers, artificial limits on the audio chip or its drivers, low-quality headphones… there are many reasons why the audio can sound too low in Chrome. While we can't conjure magical solutions and the ideal path will always be a hardware upgrade, the truth is there are extensions that let us increase the volume of Chrome tabs, and today we'll explore three of them.
Just a little more
We're talking about a small extra dose, nothing exaggerated. With an additional 5 or 10 percent of volume, our experience could change completely… but Windows doesn't offer amplification resources, and Chromium-based browsers don't either. Sound Booster
This extension to increase the volume of Chrome tabs doesn't have an advanced interface. Its control is reduced to three levels you can change by clicking on its icon. The only drawback is that it doesn't let you go back easily (you'll have to complete the cycle to lower the volume), but the first boost level is enough for most users.
Volume Master
A classic here on NeoTeo, and probably the most popular option in its category. Volume Master enables a slider to modify volume from 0 to 600 percent, and it can also identify all tabs that are playing audio in a session. No ads or restrictions, and the extension was recently updated, so it should work on any flavor of Chromium.
Volume Booster
Another extension to increase the volume of Chrome tabs that opts for a minimalist interface, without going to extremes. In fact, we could say it positions itself as a middle ground between Sound Booster and Volume Master, with a small slider to control amplification, but nothing more than that. Its developer talks about a 1,000 percent increase… if you ignore the distortion.

Finally, we must share a technical limitation that all developers have identified: both Google Chrome and its variants prevent the user from entering fullscreen mode when an extension manipulates audio, for security reasons (a rectangle will appear in the tab). The only way to access a true fullscreen is by pressing F11, or Ctrl+Cmd+F for Mac users. Good luck!
