The most common QR codes use a black pattern on a white background to take advantage of contrast, but nothing prevents us from using other combinations. In fact, the new Barcode.so portal combines QR code creation with AI-based image generation, resulting in unique and attractive designs without sacrificing compatibility.
Do you need to create a quick and simple QR code? One of our favorite applications is SimpleCodeGenerator, a development by the tireless Nirsoft. Interested in using special patterns or injecting logos? QR.io has everything you're looking for. But this is the era of artificial intelligence, so why don't we generate QR codes and images at the same time? The answer comes through a new free service, Barcode.so.
Barcode.so: How to Generate QR Codes with Images Using AI
All you have to do is share an email account for the first login, choose a style (out of 23 available), enter the text or URL to encode in the QR code, and assign a creativity level. In a matter of seconds, Barcode.so will present three variants of the same code, and to download it, a click on the sample and another on the Download button is enough.
Now, AI image generation can get a bit chaotic, and Barcode.so is no exception. In fact, it's likely that some codes won't work if the creativity level is too high. The official recommendation (and ours too) is to lower the slider and limit the algorithm's creativity.
To finish, if you don't like any of the available styles, you can enter your own description. The algorithm should take this prompt as a reference, but after some tests we've verified that it doesn't work very well. Maybe the model needs a bit more training, and its creator Simdi indicated that there will be additional optimizations in the future.
