When we go out, we always carry our house keys, money, ID, phone, and our pen drives. But if we lose the USB stick in a public place, our data will be exposed.
For this reason, we bring you this tutorial, where we will use SanDisk SecureAccess to create an encrypted vault on the unit and thus be able to store our data securely.
Once you download the application from its official page, you'll have to copy the executable file to the removable drive.
Step-by-Step Guide
- Now run the application from the pen drive.
When you run the utility, it will ask you to set a secure password (AES-128 bit), so that nobody can run the tool.
- Then you will create a folder (encrypted) where you can store all your data securely. In this case you can use the drag-and-drop action or the add button to incorporate the files.
- After copying the data to the secure folder, the tool will give you the option to delete the original destinations of the data inserted in the secure folder.
- Now you can close the SanDisk SecureAccess interface and you will see how the secure folder becomes invisible (and also the files).
To make the folder and files visible again, you will have to run the application from the pen drive and correctly decrypt the folder. And to save the files to your computer, you will have to right-click on the folder and select the option “Save File(s) to”.
But the tool doesn't stop there, because it also allows us to create backups and restore data.
SanDisk SecureAccess is a very good option for carrying bank data, love letters, and any confidential data on your USB drive. The only thing we recommend is that you remember your password well, because if you forget it, it will be impossible for you to access the data.
