A report published October 9 described KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I~III] as available for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC through Microsoft Store for Windows. Square Enix had announced the three consoles for an October 8, 2026 arrival, and PlayStation España said the PS5 edition was available that day.
KINGDOM HEARTS Collection [I~III] release and platforms
Square Enix’s June 9 announcement named Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with October 8 as the planned arrival date. PlayStation España’s October 8 message said the collection was available on PS5. The later report also named Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S, and described a Windows PC release through Microsoft Store for Windows. Square Enix’s collection page lists a Steam link for the bundle.
Square Enix describes the current-generation console editions as native versions rather than cloud-streamed games.
What the collection includes
The bundle brings together three packages. Their contents range from playable games to cinematic compilations:
| Included package | Selected contents |
| KINGDOM HEARTS HD -1.5+2.5 ReMIX- | KINGDOM HEARTS FINAL MIX, Re:Chain of Memories, KINGDOM HEARTS II FINAL MIX, and Birth by Sleep FINAL MIX; HD cutscene compilations for 358/2 Days and Re:coded |
| KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue | Dream Drop Distance HD, the χ Back Cover movie, and 0.2 Birth by Sleep – A fragmentary passage – |
| KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind (DLC) | KINGDOM HEARTS III, the Re Mind DLC, and a demo with two playable sections: one begins at the start of the game and continues through early Olympus; the other starts at Toy Box and runs to that world’s midpoint |
The distinction matters if you expect every entry to be playable: 358/2 Days and Re:coded are presented as HD cutscene compilations. The KINGDOM HEARTS III package, by contrast, includes a demo with two playable sections.
What a Switch 2 review observed
A hands-on review of the Nintendo Switch 2 edition described KINGDOM HEARTS Final Mix as targeting 4K at 60 frames per second in docked mode and running at native resolution at 60 frames per second in handheld mode. Its observations for KINGDOM HEARTS III + Re Mind were less consistent: frame rates ranged down to 30, hovered mostly in the 40s and 50s, and sometimes stuttered. These observations concern those games and modes, not every title in the collection.
The same review criticized the older games’ camera controls, describing manual camera movement as clunky and noting the lack of sensitivity options. Earlier Switch 2 coverage of the collection focused on portable play; this article covers the reported multiplatform release and the bundled contents.
