Microsoft Solitaire, the iconic card game that has entertained office workers for decades, is celebrating its 25th anniversary. Considered the most played computer game of all time, Microsoft is celebrating by holding the Solitaire Tournament.
A Quarter Century of Solitaire
Microsoft Solitaire, the famous computer game, is turning 25. It seems unbelievable, but this card game made its debut in Windows 3.0 in 1990 and has since been regarded as one of the most played computer games of all time. Despite the long history of Solitaire on Windows, Microsoft decided not to include it in Windows 8 and 8.1, but the company has already stated that it will correct that shortcoming with Windows 10.
The Tournament
The Microsoft Solitaire Tournament will take place in June. In preparation for the public event, Microsoft is running an internal tournament among its employees, which began on Monday, May 18. The company plans to use the same challenges from its internal tournament in the Solitaire Tournament next month, where the internal winners will compete against the public. The tournament will feature all five Solitaire variations: Solitaire: Klondike, FreeCell, Spider, TriPeaks, and Pyramid. Are you ready for the challenge?
