A Sequel as a Series
Directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Tom Cruise, Minority Report is a science fiction film released in 2002. The story is based on a short story by Philip K. Dick, The Minority Report, which shows that in the future there is Pre-Crime, a specialized police department that identifies and arrests criminals long before they commit a crime, relying on the visions of three psychics called "Precogs". The film was very well received, and this year we will be able to enjoy the Minority Report sequel in series format.
The story of Minority Report takes place in Washington, D.C., in the year 2065 (eleven years after the events of the film). The series introduces Dash, one of the precogs with the ability to predict crimes, who is trying to lead a normal life. Unfortunately, the Pre-Crime unit was disbanded in 2054, forcing the police to rely on new methods to fight crime. But that will not stop young Dash from using his special ability to help detective Lara Vega prevent crimes, while he also embarks on the search for his lost twin brother, Arthur.
Cast and Premiere
The pilot episode of Minority Report has been circulating online for a few days and shows a good start for the series, introducing the main characters and the central theme of the plot. Let's hope that throughout this first season it does not disappoint fans of the original film. The cast includes Stark Sands (Dash), Meagan Good (Lara Vega), Nick Zano (Arthur), Wilmer Valderrama (Will Blake), Laura Regan (Agatha), and Daniel London, the only actor who appeared in the movie and returns to play Wally once again. Steven Spielberg now serves as executive producer alongside Max Borenstein (Godzilla), who wrote the series' script. Minority Report will be broadcast on Fox starting September 21, 2015.
