Strike me with lightning if I say I wasn't expecting this... and I think half the planet is in the same situation. Some shows have caused a real revolution after their return to television was announced, but The X-Files is different. Agents Mulder and Scully know there's a pending account to settle. The truth is still out there, and their search will restart in 2016. Here's the trailer.
I'm going to write these words without my pulse trembling: David Duchovny's departure as a regular actor on The X-Files (Expediente X for those who prefer it) was the main reason I stopped watching the show. One can understand issues like internal conflicts, the search for new professional horizons, and the risk of so-called typecasting, but it wasn't easy to process the void left by the separation of one of the most fantastic teams on television: Mulder and Scully. Although Mulder's character returned several times between the eighth and ninth seasons, something was still missing. I think it's perhaps the fact that Mulder "didn't win". I wanted the world to finally open its eyes and give reason to this rebel agent who fought for years to expose the truth: That there are "things" out there, and powerful forces very interested in hiding them.

When she arrived, things changed completely. Scully brought out the best in Mulder, and she always has. And now... they're going to return. The last episode of the series aired in May 2002, and we must not forget the movie I Want to Believe from 2008... but they're going to return. We know the format will be a miniseries, and we imagine it will take elements from the official comic "The X-Files: Season 10" in which Chris Carter directly intervenes. The first episode will have a sort of "avant premiere" at New York Comic Con on October 10, and its release is scheduled for January 24, 2016, with the second episode just a day later.

Actually, what we saw in the second video is the combination of two teasers spread between the breaks of Gotham and Minority Report... but yes, they're all back, and that includes Director Skinner, and the unmistakable Smoking Man. They look great... and I'll be firmly in front of the screen in January.
