The sequel to Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is ready to premiere. Soon you'll be able to enjoy a new martial arts film thanks to Netflix, which presents the trailer of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny.
The original film, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, was directed by Ang Lee and released in 2000. This martial arts film won four Academy Awards and was nominated in several categories, including Best Picture. Now, after about fifteen years, a sequel arrives that many fans have eagerly awaited. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny takes place twenty years after the events of the first film, and follows the story of Yu Shu Lien, the martial arts master who fought alongside Master Li Mu Bai. Below, Netflix presents the trailer:
Based on the novel Iron Knight, Silver Vase by Chinese author Du Lu Wang, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny is the perfect excuse to see punches and flying kicks while a group of heroes try to prevent a sword known as Green Destiny from falling into the hands of a tyrant. Now the CGI work is even more evident in these kinds of scenes, but as long as they are well shot, there will be no complaints. Besides the action scenes, you can expect several philosophical moments as in the original film.
Michelle Yeoh is the only known actress returning as Yu Shu Lien from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. The rest of the cast is made up of Donnie Yen, Harry Shum Jr., Jason Scott Lee, Roger Yuan, Eugenia Yuan, JuJu Chan, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, and Chris Pang. Directed by Yuen Woo-ping (choreographer of the action scenes in Kill Bill and Kung Fu Hustle) and with a script by John Fusco (Marco Polo), Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny will be the first film to be released simultaneously on Netflix and in IMAX theaters on February 26, 2016.
