Activision and PlatinumGames have announced a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game. Titled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan, the shelled heroes will once again have to save the city from the clutches of the fearsome Shredder and his Foot Clan.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise hasn't been having the best of times in the video game world lately. With mediocre titles like Out of the Shadows, one wouldn't pay much attention to the next game in the series. But when Activision and PlatinumGames announced they were working on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan, we couldn't help but jump for joy. And it's no wonder, considering PlatinumGames is responsible for high-caliber games like Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, Bayonetta 2, and Transformers: Devastation. Gameplay and Story
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan is a third-person action game where Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael go out to fight crime in New York City. The turtles will have to fight together through sewers, underground passages, and the streets of New York to take down aliens, mutants, and the Foot Clan, led by Shredder and Krang. Along the way, you'll have to defeat several familiar bosses, like Bebop and Rocksteady (who will also be the new villains in the upcoming movie).
Each turtle has a different combat style and can be customized with a set of Ninjutsu moves to unleash powerful combos. The game will feature a single-player campaign or online co-op for up to three players. An interesting detail is that Mutants in Manhattan will have an original story by Tom Waltz, one of the writers of the current Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic from IDW Publishing. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan is being developed by PlatinumGames and will be available on Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One during the summer of 2016.
