The Talos 1 space station hides many secrets. Morgan Yu knows it, but when he decides to investigate, aliens invade the station and everything turns into chaos. Join Morgan in the trailer for Prey that shows the game in motion from a new perspective.
The story of Prey takes place in an alternative reality where the president of the United States, John F. Kennedy, survived the assassination attempt in 1963. As president, Kennedy directed more funds to the space program, allowing it to flourish with great advances. The game is set in the year 2032, aboard the Talos 1 space station orbiting the Moon. The protagonist is Morgan Yu, a subject who undergoes a series of experiments and, tired of the space routine, sets out to discover the truth about his past at the same time that aliens invade the station.
During E3 2016 we saw a preview of Prey that suggested Morgan was a man. This time Bethesda Softworks presents a trailer with the game in motion, but this time with Morgan Yu as a woman. In fact, the video description clarifies that “this will not change the story or the way you interact with the world, because Morgan Yu will always be Morgan Yu, and he or she will be defined by the decisions you make. It is just another way in which Arkane says 'yes' to the player.”
Although the action is first-person, Prey has role-playing elements and a strong narrative, where you will have to make decisions that will affect the plot. To survive, Morgan must collect and use the weapons and resources aboard the station to defend himself and defeat the aliens. He can even acquire abilities from enemies to develop a different combination of powers, thus improving his own skills. Prey is being developed by Arkane Studios and will be available on Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. For now the game does not have a concrete release date, but it is expected to arrive sometime in 2017.
