An Associated Press report carried by América TeVé quoted Yandex Cloud as saying a drone attack damaged its Vladimir data center, stopped operations there completely and caused no injuries. Read the report.

Three reported strikes on Yandex facilities

Ars Technica reported strikes on Yandex facilities in Sasovo on October 8, Kaluga on October 9, and Vladimir on October 11, 2026. At Sasovo, two Yandex supercomputers, Chervonenkis and Lyapunov, were used to train YandexGPT, according to Ars Technica’s account. NeoTeo previously covered the reported incidents at Sasovo and Kaluga.

What Yandex Pro drivers reported

UNITED24 Media, citing Russian outlet Verstka and two drivers, reported that a Yandex Pro notice advised drivers to use Google Maps or Waze and download offline maps in case Yandex navigation became unavailable. Drivers also described delayed trip-status and order-history updates, missing bonuses, and “phantom orders.”

UNITED24 Media’s October 12 report cited DownDetector figures relayed by Verstka: about 435,000 reports of problems with Yandex services in the preceding 24 hours. That figure counts problem reports, not individual users. In earlier coverage, NeoTeo linked a report attributed to RIA that Yandex was gradually restoring access to its services after a drone attack.

What Cloudflare’s data say about social media

Le Grand Continent reported a decline in automated requests recorded across Cloudflare-protected websites after the strikes. The requests include crawlers; the metric does not track social-media posts or engagement. Le Grand Continent said the decline therefore does not demonstrate a change in Russian influence operations or establish that the strikes caused one. Read its analysis.
