Hope is the last thing to be lost; dreaming costs nothing... 14 years fly by And here we are, once again, ready to relive the story of John Marston on a platform that deserved it from the start. That's right: Red Dead Redemption for PC has been officially confirmed by Rockstar Games. The port will include 4K support, 144 Hz rates on compatible hardware, Ultrawide / Super Ultrawide modes, upscaling, frame generation, and the Undead Nightmare DLC.

Rumor Confirmed: Red Dead Redemption Is Coming to PC

Leaks, data mining, strange descriptions... the details were all there. Unconfirmed, undenied, always walking on the edge of the knife, just as some companies prefer to feed the hype. However, Red Dead Redemption on PC goes beyond that. It is an act of justice, one we have waited 14 years for. Yes, it's likely to have (many) bugs. Yes, we imagine Rockstar will have to run to prepare updates, and no, it wouldn't be crazy to think about a 0-day patch... but the alternative is to keep empty-handed. Make room on your SSDs: John Marston is here.

Red Dead Redemption for PC... at last

What do Rockstar and Double Eleven promise us? First, support for several features that can only reach their full potential on PC, such as native 4K resolution, and a 144 Hz rate (assuming the hardware has enough firepower). Add to that compatibility with Ultrawide and Super Ultrawide monitors (i.e., 21:9 and 32:9), and as could not be otherwise, full control via keyboard and mouse.

Graphics settings will be expanded with shadow and distance parameters, but Rockstar also mentions in its description support for upscaling via Nvidia DLSS 3.7 and AMD FSR 3.0, in addition to frame generation with Nvidia hardware. On the content side, the game does not have an online mode, but the presence of the Undead Nightmare DLC has already been confirmed, a standalone and out-of-canon story that places John at the center of a zombie invasion.

When? October 29. Now we only need Bloodborne. Come on Sony, it's not that hard.
