The darkness has returned! After being canceled a few years ago, Shadow of the Eternals resurges from its ashes with a new company at the helm, and they’re showing a demo of the game in motion.

Shadow of the Eternals Resurges with a New Demo
Shadow of the Eternals

We had already told you about Shadow of the Eternals, the spiritual successor to Eternal Darkness. The game was canceled after two failed Kickstarter campaigns and an internal issue linked to one of Precursor Games' members (the studio behind it) on child pornography charges. But Denis Dyack, founder of the old Silicon Knights (the developer of Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem), didn't sit idle and in 2014 created a new gaming company, Quantum Entanglement Entertainment. One of the company's first projects is the relaunch of Shadow of the Eternals, which comes with a teaser and demo of the game:

A detail that might interest you is that Quantum Entanglement Entertainment is made up of several members who worked on Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem, so fans can rest easy. As for the game itself, Shadow of the Eternals is a horror adventure with a story worthy of one of H.P. Lovecraft's best horror works. The game features an eclectic cast of heroes and villains spanning thousands of years of history. Once again, players' perception will be altered as they fight, use magic, and explore the settings.

The Shadow of the Eternals demo takes place in a cathedral where a young templar interacts with one of the monks, then explores the surroundings in search of a book, which eventually leads him to a secret passage. The worst doesn't take long to appear, and suddenly the young man finds himself trapped in an infernal world. It's worth noting that the game would no longer be released episodically as first announced, but as a complete package. Shadow of the Eternals is being developed by Quantum Entanglement Entertainment and will be available on Windows and Wii U. For now, the game doesn't have a concrete release date, but news is expected at E3.
