The Story of Detective Pikachu
The story of Detective Pikachu introduces us to the popular yellow rodent and his human friend Tim Goodman, who must solve mysteries involving the Pokémon of Ryme City. This peculiar Pikachu, although not as powerful or agile as others of its species, can talk, is tough, loves coffee, and boasts of his brilliance as an aspiring great detective. The duo's main mission is to search for clues and talk with witnesses to investigate the disappearance of Tim's father, Harry Goodman.

Gameplay
Detective Pikachu is an adventure game where you take control of Tim. Throughout the adventure you'll have to solve several cases with Pikachu, who will help you find evidence. This is achieved by exploring the city, looking for clues, and interacting with both humans and Pokémon to get information. Depending on the difficulty level selected, the little detective will give you useful tips on what to do or where to go. Undoubtedly, this spin-off of the Pokémon franchise offers a new twist for those of us who were already a bit tired of catching and training monsters.
Amiibo and Movie
Finally, two facts that fans will appreciate: first, a great Detective Pikachu amiibo is planned for the game's launch. It's bigger than a regular amiibo and will allow players to see all the Pika Prompts (short videos that include jokes and pranks from Pikachu) of the chapters they have completed. Second, during this month filming begins on the movie, directed by Rob Letterman (Goosebumps) and featuring the voice of Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) in the role of Detective Pikachu. Universal Pictures announced that the movie will be released on May 10, 2019.
Detective Pikachu is being developed by Creatures Inc. and will be available exclusively on Nintendo 3DS starting March 23, 2018.
