Four million views suggest the project is heading in the right direction, and inevitably rumors and speculation begin to circulate about other Nintendo franchises. In fact, many eyes are on The Legend of Zelda, and a developer named Dan Leveille decided to dive into Midjourney to create the cast of a hypothetical Netflix series…
Now, let's be honest: it's what follows. Detective Pikachu in 2019, Sonic in 2020 and 2022 (third installment confirmed for 2024), Super Mario Bros. releasing in April 2023, The Last of Us as a series… video game-inspired works are clicking with audiences, and everyone is asking the same question: Metroid? Zelda? Samus Aran's story is fascinating, and the land of Hyrule is crying out for another chance on screen (I say "another" because it had a series before, and it's better to forget it).
Imagining a Netflix Series for The Legend of Zelda
With the help of image generators like Stable Diffusion and Midjourney, many users on the web have begun to explore the possibility of a live-action The Legend of Zelda, and developer Dan Leveille is one of them. His idea isn't for a movie, but for an exclusive Netflix series, and the chosen cast is certainly interesting... and would demand a gigantic budget.
Tom Holland as Link
Tom's work as Spider-Man is unquestionable, but his time in the Uncharted franchise didn't make the expected splash. Personally, I think Timothée Chalamet would be another good option.
Emma Watson as Zelda
Loved by an entire generation of Harry Potter fans, her last major project was the adaptation of Little Women in 2019. Midjourney did her justice imagining her as Zelda... but my mind screams Anya Taylor-Joy here.
Idris Elba as Ganon
The English actor lent his voice to Knuckles in Sonic 2, and he's no stranger to the fantasy genre. He definitely has the talent and ability to take Ganon to another level.
Maisie Williams as Saria
We clearly have an Ocarina of Time fan here. Maisie's most recent big-screen role was The Owners, and she had a significant part in the miniseries Pistol. Midjourney could have done a better job with her.
Sadie Sink as Malon
The question is: which version of Malon? This character appears in four official games, but I imagine we're talking about Ocarina of Time. Sadie comes from shining in Stranger Things, and she worked alongside Brendan Fraser in The Whale.
Danny DeVito as Tingle
Interesting choice. Tingle is a seller in Majora's Mask, and has an even more relevant role in The Wind Waker. As for old Danny, I think he'd say yes if the role is good.
Meryl Streep as Twinrova
Technically Kotake and Koume, Ganondorf's surrogate mothers. Would Meryl play all three roles? I think she'd be the most complicated name, from every point of view.
Jameela Jamil as Urbosa
This fictional cast throws us headfirst into Breath of the Wild, and Urbosa is an essential character. Jameela has extensive TV experience, but Midjourney didn't give her any characteristics as a Gerudo champion.
Gemma Chan as Great Fairy
Once again, which version? They're all similar in general terms, but I don't envy whoever decides to adapt this script. Gemma was part of Don't Worry Darling recently, a rather chaotic production judging by what's been published...
Steve Buscemi as Dampé
Dampé is in charge of the cemetery. He sleeps by day and walks it by night. Despite his appearance, he's not an evil character, and I think Steve Buscemi would fit perfectly here. Or maybe Andy Serkis?
