Access to American and British films in the Eastern Bloc was quite complicated... not to say nearly impossible. Obviously, that didn't stop the exploration of alternative routes, but in the specific case of Poland, getting copies of the official posters for their limited releases wasn't an option. This gave rise to a series of extraordinary creations that completely reinvented the original art, while also escaping the maze of censorship.
