Tesla Robotaxi said on October 10, 2026, that more than 300 Cybercabs were serving Austin, and described an eightfold increase over 30 days. The company’s post is a statement about its Austin service; Tesla AI software chief Ashok Elluswamy was separately reported to say Dallas was next, without giving a date for Cybercab rides.

What the three fleet counts measure

Tesla’s Austin figure, a tracker’s snapshot of Austin service and Texas registrations count different populations:

Reported countWhat it measuresGeographic scope
300+ CybercabsTesla’s stated number of Cybercabs serving Austin (Tesla Robotaxi, October 10)Austin
105 of 275 vehiclesRobotaxiTracker’s reported snapshot of unsupervised service; 105 vehicles were Cybercabs (Teslarati; RobotaxiTracker)Austin
319 CybercabsTexas registrations after 150 additions, up from 169 (Teslarati)Texas

The registration total is statewide, while the Austin figures describe service activity. RobotaxiTracker’s count is specifically for unsupervised vehicles; Tesla’s post describes Cybercabs “serving” Austin. The categories are distinct, not competing totals for the same group.

NeoTeo’s earlier coverage of Texas Cybercab commercial-use authorizations tracked a different measure from registrations or vehicles serving Austin.

What the Dallas remark says

Teslarati reported that Elluswamy named Dallas as the next Cybercab city. Tesla’s Robotaxi page lists Dallas among cities with Robotaxi rides and describes Cybercab and Model Y as fleet vehicles, but the city list does not assign a specific vehicle to each location. A general Dallas Robotaxi listing therefore isn’t a Cybercab-specific start notice.

What an Austin ride looks like

WHAT’S INSIDE? FAMILY rides in a Cybercab in Austin and examines its cabin alongside other ride options

Tesla describes Cybercab as designed for up to two passengers, with a center touchscreen and no steering wheel or pedals. In an Austin ride, WHAT’S INSIDE? FAMILY filmed its cabin inspection and compared the trip with rides in a Model Y Robotaxi, Waymo and Uber. Those observations belong to the creators’ individual trip.
