After covering stories about vampires and werewolves, it’s a good time to get back to a ghost story… but Presence is a different creature. Instead of relying on found footage or other popular formats, Steven Soderbergh decided to shoot the entire project in first person, closely following the Payne family’s traumas. The film features Lucy Liu and Julia Fox in its cast, and was written by David Koepp, the same writer behind Jurassic Park, The Lost World, and Carlito’s Way. Presence has already screened at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and will hit theaters very soon (January 24).
