The Conflict
We have already talked about the plot of Captain America: Civil War, but to summarize: the Government decides to approve a law that regulates the Avengers' activity, causing the group to split into two opposing factions, one led by Steve Rogers and the other by Tony Stark. And while fans decide which side they are on, Marvel presents us with a new trailer for Captain America: Civil War with Spider-Man as a special guest. It was long-awaited, but finally Spider-Man makes his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe just when the conflict between both sides is about to erupt.
Spider-Man's Debut
This time we will see a teenage version of Spider-Man who is allied with Stark. The striking thing is the new suit he wears, which closely resembles the original design by Steve Ditko (co-creator of the character along with Stan Lee). But it's the eyes, in black and white, the most interesting part of this new suit, which seem to be animated by CGI, just as seen in the Deadpool movie. Also visible is the presence of General Ross (former enemy of Hulk) who now serves as Secretary of State of the United States.
Differences from the Comic and the Cast
If you read Civil War, the comic from which this film borrows concepts, you will notice several differences. One of them is that the secret identities of superheroes do not exist in Captain America: Civil War. The film features a cast that includes Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Don Cheadle, Jeremy Renner, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Emily VanCamp, Tom Holland, Frank Grillo, William Hurt, and Daniel Brühl, among others. Produced by Marvel Studios, the film is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo (Captain America: The Winter Soldier). Captain America: Civil War will be released in theaters in 3D and IMAX 3D on May 6, 2016.
