PlayStation 4 owners will have the exclusive pleasure of enjoying the long-awaited Uncharted 4: A Thief's End next year. And to help ease the wait, what better way than to catch up on the adventures of this treasure hunter with the compilation Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection.
Since the launch of PlayStation 4, developer Naughty Dog has received a large number of requests through social media, online advertisements, and community messages to release remastered versions of the first three Uncharted games. And with Uncharted 4: A Thief's End coming next year, what better idea than to catch up with the three games that launched the iconic treasure hunter Nathan Drake to fame? Fans asked for it, and Naughty Dog delivered with the announcement of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection.
The studio behind these remasters is Bluepoint Games, which already has experience with compilations such as God of War Collection, The Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection, and Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection. The three main games—Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception—will run in 1080p and at 60 frames per second, with improvements in lighting, textures, and character models. But that's not all, as the collection also includes a series of gameplay improvements and additions, including new trophies to unlock.
As with any modern game, exclusives for pre-ordering are a must. In this case, players will receive costumes for Nathan as well as several weapons. But we've saved the best for last, because purchasing this compilation grants access to the beta of the multiplayer mode for Uncharted 4: A Thief's End.
This compilation is the perfect excuse for players who haven't yet had the chance to enjoy Nathan Drake's adventures, so if you're one of them, now is the time to get up to speed. Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection is being developed by Bluepoint Games and will be available exclusively on PlayStation 4 starting October 7, 2015.
