VR.org later reported that a changelog for rockonthehill’s Gears of War: E-Day PC VR mod showed physical interactions working that an earlier account had described as planned. The community project targets the full single-player campaign.

Physical interactions in the later update

VR.org reported that the changelog showed the Lancer chainsaw starting with a lever, physical melee, hands and weapons colliding with objects, and a working Longshot scope.

Campaign scope and the trailer

rockonthehill’s early-WIP trailer shows first-person combat, two-handed aiming from cover, and a King Raven gunner sequence.

The mod’s stated goal is VR support across the full single-player campaign. Online co-op falls outside its stated scope. Road to VR’s initial account listed stereo rendering, full-body inverse kinematics (IK), manual reloading and weapon switching, two-handed aiming, cover combat, and the King Raven gunner position among the features working in the build it covered.

rockonthehill posted the early-WIP trailer on October 18, 2026. NeoTeo previously covered E-Day’s campaign design, including its cover-based combat and freer movement.

Release plan and development setup

rockonthehill says the mod will be free when released. VR.org reported a development setup with an RTX 5080 and Pimax Dream Air SE, and said the creator had not tested the Xbox app version.
