The Story of Dark Sector

In 1987, Soviet forces discovered a submarine near the coast of the fictional country of Lasria. Something inside attacked the crew, and twenty years later, Lasria is being devastated by a virus called Technocyte. Agent Hayden Tenno is sent to the gulag Vozlo in that country to locate another agency element, Robert Mezner. Tenno suffers from congenital analgesia, meaning he cannot feel pain, although it doesn't help him much at first. The mission ends in the worst way, with Tenno wounded, captured, and infected….

Gameplay and the Glaive

But that is the formal start of the game, as the virus transforms Tenno in a very particular way. With his right arm, he can manifest the Glaive, a circular blade 'Krull-style', capable of dismembering everything in its path, and enabling certain execution moves against his enemies. Both the graphics and the gameplay are certainly 2008-2009 (very inspired by Resident Evil, I might add), but today Dark Sector runs even on a fuel dispenser, and its value as an 'ancestor' of Warframe remains intact.
