DroidDeck 0.6.7, released October 29, 2026, kept Xbox game installs in its Library and added Xbox Cloud Gaming as a separate streaming option. DroidDeck is an open-source Android app that can run PC games locally through compatibility software. The update leaves players with two distinct routes: download a game to the device or stream it.
What changed in DroidDeck 0.6.7
The project’s release notes retain Xbox installs and content management in the Library, alongside the new cloud-streaming option. The web player is the default for streaming; an optional native player is available on Android 10 and later.
The release notes also list Xbox-related fixes for sign-in on some phones, external and SD-card storage, Minecraft for Windows startup, and messages shown when Microsoft rejects a download license.
Local install or cloud stream: what changes?
With a local install, the game files are downloaded to the Android device and the game runs there. Streaming sends gameplay over a network connection and does not require installing the game. The project’s notes list Proton or FEX as launch routes for local Xbox games.
| Route | Where the game runs | Network use | Device storage |
| Local install | On the Android device, through Proton or FEX | A 3BTech demonstration played Superhot after Wi-Fi and mobile data were disconnected following the download | Requires downloaded game files; storage needs vary by game |
| Xbox Cloud Gaming | Streamed to the device | Requires a network connection | Does not require installing the game |
What an Android demonstration showed
In a Spanish-language walkthrough of DroidDeck 0.6.0, 3BTech signed into an Xbox account, downloaded Superhot, and played it after disconnecting Wi-Fi and mobile data. The same demonstration showed Gears of War Reloaded failing to launch. Both outcomes came from that one device and session.
Achievements and cloud saves in one reported game
One Retroid Pocket 5 player reported that Ball x Pit achievements appeared on their Xbox profile and that cloud saves let them continue the game on another device. That account concerns one game and one player; it does not establish the same result for every title.
