Fortunately, the web is full of resources for programmers, designers, and creatives of all kinds. The category of free icons has gained a lot of momentum in recent years, and if you need some for your project, you will likely get them without any hassle or legal issues.
Today we want to add the portal Iconduck, which offers more than 100,000 free icons and illustrations under an open source license, and in vector format.
Interfaces, services, online stores, websites in general, it doesn't matter. The first step is to make them adapt seamlessly to the vast array of connected systems and mobile devices... and the second is that they look great in the process. Designing every icon and button is a titanic task, and if there is a way to take a shortcut without causing problems, you definitely should.
That's why we love sharing online resources that are free and have flexible licenses. Previously we've recommended the Illustrations portal with hundreds of vector graphics, the package of free vector icons in Tilda Icons, and the spectacular Flaticon with millions of options. Today it's Iconduck's turn, a page with more than 110,000 free icons and graphics, all open source.

Searching for free icons on Iconduck can be done by exploring the predefined sets, or by taking advantage of its internal search (which, by the way, works very well). When you click on an icon, Iconduck's interface will enable navigation with the cursor keys. It will also present information about the icon, including its size, the set it belongs to, and most importantly: its license.
All the free icons we've found on Iconduck are in SVG vector format, which is more convenient and flexible. As for their licenses, many icons fall under CC0 and require no further attention. However, others adopt Creative Commons with attribution, and it's necessary to mention the original author.
In short, Iconduck is an excellent source of free icons, whether as a complement to other sites or as a starting point for your projects. Personally, I think it's only missing an option to download entire sets, but I also understand that it could be abused, since the site does not require any prior registration.
