Everyone has a long list of annoying things they hate, and now we can finally use this information to find true love! Meet Hater, a Tinder for finding people who hate the same things you do.
For a while now, we've been mentioning Tinder, the ideal app for anyone looking for a partner. As you know, one of its main features is an algorithm that matches people based on their general interests, so they can start a conversation and get to know each other. We know you love the idea of finding someone who shares your tastes, like music, movies, and food. But what if you want to find someone to share the things you hate? That's where Hater, a Tinder for finding people who hate the same things you do comes in.
How Does Hater Work?
Just download Hater from the App Store or Google Play (depending on your device's operating system) and register; that's the usual for this kind of app, but the novelty here is mentioning the things you hate.
- Political posts on Facebook
- Waking up early
- Slow walkers
- Selfies
"It started as a joke," says Brendan Alper, founder of Hater. "I found studies showing that hating the same things can bring people together, and that one is more willing to be honest and open about what they hate than what they like."
Matching is done the same way as Tinder (swipe right to like, left if you don't), but remember: matches are only chosen based on your hate interests. Unfortunately, there is no Spanish version yet, which is definitely a barrier for a good percentage of users who don't master English. But if that's not your case, don't hesitate to try it, and who knows, you might find the love of your life based on the things you hate.
Hater is available for free download on iOS and Android. Official site: Hater.
