In the name of eternal simplification and its “unified experience”, Microsoft is determined to banish all those functions that gave us a certain level of control over Windows in the past. However, there are still some resources that have managed to resist Redmond’s changes, and one of them is God Mode. If you’re wondering how to activate God Mode in Windows 11 and bring some order to the operating system, today we’ll explain what you need to do.
Windows 11 is already on more than 20 percent of computers. Its evolution has been slow for various reasons, but one of the main problems is that Microsoft keeps modifying aspects of the operating system, or worse, eliminating useful features for the end user.
Windows 11 is without a doubt a work in progress, and many people decided to take the downgrade route, but if you still want to work with that system (or have no other choice), all is not lost. The latest OpenShell build replaces the Start menu, and ExplorerPatcher does a similar job restoring everything Redmond removed from the taskbar; however, there is another resource: God Mode in Windows 11.
God Mode in Windows 11: How to Activate It
The good news is that the process for activating God Mode in Windows 11 hasn’t changed at all. In fact, we must repeat exactly the same command we used for God Mode in Windows 10, that is:
- Create a new folder on the desktop.
- Enter as the folder name the string GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}
- Press Enter. The folder takes on the Control Panel icon and remains unnamed.
- When you double-click the folder, you’ll see God Mode activated.
If you’ve never used it before, God Mode behaves like a kind of “Super Control Panel”, concentrating dozens of advanced options in one place. Keyboard, mouse, sound settings, system parameters, date and time, region, voice recognition, programs and features, power options, network center, printers, fonts, and even Windows Firewall are part of this mega-group of settings.
If you want to remove God Mode in Windows 11, don’t worry: it’s enough to delete the folder. It’s not mandatory to use the desktop for its creation. You can place it anywhere, but I admit that the desktop is much more comfortable to me personally. Give it a try!
