In this article, we'll teach you how to record the startup screen in animated GIF format. Although there is no direct method, we'll make an adjustment using two platforms so you can do it easily and end up with a high-quality GIF. This way, you'll have a technique with which you can edit and customize the recording to the fullest.
The environments we'll use are EOAR and Gooncam. The first lets you open the CMD on the startup screen of the operating system. From that window, you can open the second platform to record any region of the screen.
The first thing you need to do is download EOAR and then Gooncam. Then install EOAR on your computer (run it as Administrator) and click the “Install” button. Gooncam is a portable utility that doesn't require installation, but you will need to extract the folder to any drive on your computer.
Recording the Startup Screen
At this point, you have everything installed and ready to start recording the session screen of your computer's operating system. When you start the computer, you'll see EOAR. The environment offers you seven options on the startup screen, such as opening the CMD, opening the PowerShell window, opening the Registry editor, or opening a dialog window.
We'll select the “Command Prompt” option. Now a command prompt window will open. Here you'll need to enter the path of the extracted Gooncam folder, in our case:
C:\gooncam
You'll see the Gooncam interface appear. You just need to click the record button and determine the recording box on the part where you enter your login password. Then you can start recording with the Ctrl+Space keyboard shortcut (also use it to stop the recording).
When you close the recording box, a configuration window will appear. From there, you'll need to click the “convert” button to start the conversion process to animated GIF format. When saving the file, you specify where to save it and it will export successfully. As you can see, the recording of your computer's login screen is really simple. You just need to use the EOAR and Gooncam platforms to do it in a few steps.
