What the Trailer Reveals
With two trailers already under its belt, Star Wars: The Force Awakens has introduced us to the new protagonists and the return of old characters from this beloved saga. Now, a new preview offers a glimpse at the central story. Set about thirty years after the events of Return of the Jedi, we'll meet the new trio: Finn, Rey, and Poe Dameron. Rey is a scavenger who recovers useful parts alongside BB-8 on the desert planet Jakku.
Finn is a Stormtrooper who, through circumstances, ends up becoming a Jedi, while Poe is one of the best pilots of the Rebel Alliance. Their paths will cross, making them teammates. As for the new villain, Kylo Ren is a Force-wielding warrior, a member of the Knights of Ren and commander of the First Order, following in the legacy of Darth Vader. As the trailer shows, J.J. Abrams dazzles with everything a fan wants to see: Jedis, Sith (or Knights of Ren in this case), and the inevitable battles aboard spaceships. But the big question on everyone's mind is: Where is Luke?

The leading cast of this new episode includes Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), Daisy Ridley (Rey), John Boyega (Finn), Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron), Lupita Nyong'o, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Kenny Baker, Peter Mayhew, and Max von Sydow. Produced by Walt Disney Pictures, Lucasfilm, and Bad Robot Productions, the film is directed by J.J. Abrams (Star Trek). Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set to release on December 18, 2015, and will be shown in 3D and IMAX 3D.
