NVIDIA said on October 21, 2026, that a faster DLSS 5 model is available in NBA 2K27 Season 2. NVIDIA says the model runs 10 times faster than the version it announced in March, while its separate claim for game frame rates is up to 1.4 times higher on GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs, RTX Spark laptops, and GeForce NOW.
What the speed claims mean
DLSS 5 3D-Guided Neural Rendering adds lighting and material detail to a game’s rendered frame. In NBA 2K27, NVIDIA says the feature enhances details such as hair, contact shadows, and light scattering beneath the skin. It is distinct from Super Resolution, which reconstructs an image, and Frame Generation, which creates additional frames.
The 10× figure refers to the model’s speed compared with NVIDIA’s March-announced model. It does not mean NBA 2K27 runs at 10 times the frame rate. NVIDIA’s separate game-FPS claim is up to 1.4× across the platforms it names.
TweakTown reported a displayed comparison of 240 to 312 FPS, a 30% increase. Those figures describe that reported comparison, not a general result for every PC or platform.
How to enable Neural Rendering
For local PC play, NBA 2K Support lists a GeForce RTX 50-series GPU and a GeForce Game Ready Driver released September 3, 2026. To turn on the feature, go to Main Menu → Features → Video Settings → DLSS Neural Rendering and switch it on. Press F9 to toggle it during gameplay or replays. NBA 2K Support’s DLSS 5 instructions give the same requirements and controls.
How the earlier RTX 5080 result fits
NeoTeo’s earlier test of DLSS 5 in NBA 2K27 measured a previous version on a GeForce RTX 5080 at 3440 × 1440, with Frame Generation off. It recorded 240 FPS with Neural Rendering off and 91 FPS with it on. Those measurements describe the earlier version, not the faster model NVIDIA announced in October.
