The Battle of the Breach was only a prelude. The planet is again besieged by the Kaiju, colossal monsters whose only goal is to destroy the human race. But a new generation of Jaeger pilots is preparing to face them in Pacific Rim Uprising.
Ten years have passed since the Battle of the Breach at the end of the movie Pacific Rim. Vindicated by the victory at the breach, the Jaeger program has evolved into the most powerful global defense force in the history of humanity. The Pan Pacific Defense Corps (PPDC) now seeks the best and brightest pilots to turn them into the next generation of heroes when the Kaiju threat returns. Pacific Rim Uprising introduces us to the rebellious Jake Pentecost, whose legendary father, Stacker Pentecost, gave his life to ensure humanity's victory against the monstrous Kaiju.
Unfortunately Jake has abandoned his training only to be trapped in a criminal underworld. But when an even more unstoppable threat is unleashed to destroy cities and endanger the world, Jake gets one last chance to live up to his father's legacy from his adoptive sister, Mako Mori, who is now the leader of a new and brave generation of pilots who have grown up in the shadow of the war. Jake teams up with Nate Lambert, a talented rival pilot, and Amara Namani, a 15-year-old hacker, in a completely new adventure to become the most powerful defense force and prevent the extinction of humanity.
