Developers start from an original folder that contains all the files of the development and then make changes to achieve the final work. Sometimes, a badly made change affects the structure of the development and they have to go back to the original file. For this reason, it is advisable to make a backup of the original folder in another location. To make this easier, there is a program called Simple Backup that performs one-click backups.
The platform allows you to make a quick backup of a folder to a temporary location and gives you the option to restore it whenever necessary.
How to back up a folder to a temporary location on Windows
Once you download the ZIP file (SimpleBackup-master.zip) from GitHub, you'll need to unzip it and run the file sb.exe, located in the Bin folder. Once you run the program, quick access options are added to the right-click context menu.
To back up a folder, you'll need to right-click on it and select the option "Backup – [Simple Backup]". At that moment, the platform will make a backup of the folder in a temporary location. Then you can make the necessary changes to the folder.
When you need the original files, simply right-click in the same or another location and select the option "Restore – [Simple Backup]" to restore the original files.
Remember that the environment makes a temporary backup and you can restore it as long as you don't restart the computer or quit the program. Simple Backup is indeed a very good platform for backing up folders to a temporary location.
