Scott Younker of Tom’s Guide judged the refreshed Xreal One Pro Plus and VITURE Beast roughly even overall in a comparison published October 18, 2026. His recommendation depends on the job: Xreal for work and reading, Beast for gaming and streaming. Younker also reported that Xreal released the refresh during the week of his comparison. Read the comparison.
The refresh adds Reading, Standard, and Movie modes, and Tom’s Guide reports a faster 2D-to-3D conversion rate. Before choosing, also weigh VITURE’s documented connection requirements, tracking features, and fit options.
Which model suits each use?
Younker’s comparison favors the Xreal One Pro Plus for work and reading, citing its Reading mode and a flatter color presentation for editing. It favors VITURE Beast for gaming and streaming, describing its image as sharper and more colorful.
| Use | Model favored in the comparison | Reported reason |
| Work, reading, and editing | Xreal One Pro Plus | Reading mode and a flatter color presentation for editing |
| Gaming and streaming | VITURE Beast | The comparison favors its sharpness and color |
The same comparison lists both pairs at 120Hz. It gives Xreal a 57-degree field of view and 1,200 nits of peak brightness, and Beast 58 degrees and 1,250 nits. These are listed specifications; the reviewer’s use-case preferences are his comparative judgment.
What changed in the Xreal refresh?
Tom’s Guide reports that the One Pro Plus raises peak brightness from 700 to 1,200 nits and adds Reading, Standard, and Movie modes. The comparison also says its real-time 2D-to-3D conversion rate rises from 30 frames per second on the earlier One Pro to 60 frames per second on the Plus.
Those changes give readers who want to switch between text, general viewing, and movies named modes to try. For work and reading, Younker’s preference rests on his assessment of the Reading mode and image, not on a measured productivity benchmark. NeoTeo previously covered the earlier Xreal 1 Pro launch.
Beast tracking and device connections
Three degrees of freedom, or 3DoF, tracks head rotation; six degrees of freedom, or 6DoF, also accounts for position in space. VITURE’s Beast product page lists native 3DoF and describes 6DoF as a future plan. Tom’s Guide lists the optional XREAL Eye Camera as the accessory for 6DoF on Xreal and gives its price as $99.
For a direct USB-C connection, VITURE says the device must support DisplayPort Alt Mode. Its guidance lists compatible USB-C handhelds as direct-connect devices; Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 need a compatible Mobile Dock or USB-C XR Charging Adapter Ultra, while HDMI consoles such as PlayStation and Xbox need the Pro Mobile Dock. VITURE also lists the Pro Neckband as compatible with Beast, with 3DoF available in Android and SpaceWalker modes.
That makes the connection check especially important if you plan to use a console rather than a compatible USB-C handheld. VITURE’s accessory requirements apply to Beast; they do not establish the setup needed for the Xreal model.
Fit and prescription lenses
VITURE lists Beast in Regular and Large fits for different interpupillary distance ranges. The glasses have no built-in diopter adjustment, but VITURE lists a prescription-lens frame as included. If you need vision correction, that frame is a concrete provision to factor into your choice; the fit options still make trying the glasses on relevant.
VITURE suggests wearing Beast for 3–4 hours and advises a 10–15-minute break each hour. In one Xreal community discussion, owners reported different experiences: one said the glasses were comfortable for 2–3 hours, while another described serious discomfort after 30–45 minutes. Those are individual reports, not a general comfort result. Read the discussion.
Prices listed in the US comparison
