Copy or insert

The translation technology used by the add-in is Microsoft’s online translator, which supports a wide range of languages. Once you download the plugin from its official page, simply open a Word document and start translating part or all of it into one or more languages.

Now you only need to select part or all of the text, right-click on it, and choose the “Translate” option.

The translation is done in just two steps

At this point, references will appear on the right side of the document. Here you need to select the options and, of course, the translation languages: choose the original language (it does this by default) and select the language into which the text will be translated (by default English). Once you customize the references, click the green arrow “Translate document”.

You can install new dictionaries

In the panel you will also find options to replace texts or insert text in a specific part of the document. In the advanced options, you will find the dictionaries, where you can select or deselect them.

This extension is truly a great option for translating complete texts, paragraphs, or words from Microsoft Word without having to use external platforms.

The translation uses Microsoft’s online translator as its engine, and as we all know, machine translations aren’t perfectly accurate. For this reason, you won’t get professional-grade translations.

Translator is a free plugin that is available for Microsoft Word 2013 or later versions.
