The modern era is arriving with the new Assassin’s Creed. Has Ubisoft learned from the mistakes made in Assassin’s Creed Unity? For now we’ll have to wait, but meanwhile enjoy the trailers of Assassin's Creed Syndicate.
In December 2014, images and information about the new Assassin’s Creed leaked online under the codename Victory, set in London. Ubisoft finally confirmed the existence of Assassin's Creed Syndicate through three trailers, transporting us to the mid-19th century, specifically 1868, during the Victorian era in the midst of the Industrial Revolution. The new protagonist is a mob assassin named Jacob Frye, who fights for justice on behalf of the enslaved working class of London.
Although the content of the Assassin's Creed Syndicate trailer is in an alpha state, it looks quite good, with Jacob reunited with his gang to break the corrupt rule in London and bring a brighter future to the working class. Some of the new gameplay details include the arsenal of weapons, including the kukri knife, brass knuckles, and sword canes, as well as the new grappling hook (similar to the one Ada Wong had in Resident Evil 4) to scale buildings in seconds or take enemies by surprise.
The images from the trailers show the Big Ben clock tower and Buckingham Palace, locations we'll surely be able to visit in the adventure. Thanks to London's industrial advancement, we can move at a faster pace using trains and carriages within this modern open world. We'll also be able to play as Evie, Jacob's twin sister, a relentless assassin who is quite fast and stealthy. Assassin's Creed Syndicate is being developed by Ubisoft Quebec and will be available on Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One starting October 23, 2015.
