On October 22, 2026, BE Semiconductor Industries (Besi) reported €342.6 million in orders for the third quarter, up 96.1% from a year earlier and 17% from the prior quarter. Besi supplies semiconductor assembly and advanced-packaging equipment used in the AI-chip supply chain; the order figure measures new business booked, not chips shipped or revenue already recognized.
Orders topped analyst expectations
Besi’s Q3 orders exceeded the cited analyst consensus of €298 million by €44.6 million, or about 15%. The company reported €283.4 million in revenue for the quarter, up 13.4% quarter over quarter and 113.6% year over year. Net income was €107.2 million, up 323.7% year over year, and gross margin was 65.2%.
Orders were about 1.21 times revenue in Q3, calculated by dividing €342.6 million by €283.4 million. That ratio compares two measures from the same quarter; it does not say when the new orders will be delivered or recognized as revenue.
Hybrid bonding was a major source of demand
Besi’s management linked the order growth chiefly to hybrid bonding, data centers and AI-related applications. Hybrid bonding joins semiconductor dies to wafers. Besi said its year-to-date hybrid-bonding orders had more than doubled the total for fiscal 2025.
In 2026, management said hybrid bonding had reached 23 customers and cumulative demand exceeded 215 systems. Those figures describe adoption and cumulative demand, not Q3 shipments. Richard Blickman also cited applications including high-bandwidth memory (HBM), logic chiplets, co-packaged optics, edge AI and power management.
Blickman described Besi’s work with ASML
Besi CEO Richard Blickman said the company does not view ASML as a competitor in die-to-wafer hybrid bonding. He described the companies as collaborating on programs to improve die-placement accuracy and throughput. The account is Blickman’s description of Besi’s position and the collaboration. The discussion also connects to NeoTeo’s earlier coverage of the hypothesis that ASML could develop a hybrid-bonding tool.
Besi’s Q4 outlook
Besi guided for Q4 revenue to be flat within 5% above or below Q3’s €283.4 million. It projected a gross margin of 63% to 65% and operating expenses 5% to 10% higher than in Q3, mainly because of strategic-consulting costs.
