We have already explored this in the past: Maximus revives, becomes an ally of the Christians, is condemned to immortality, and ends up as a Pentagon agent. There are also decadent gods, sons turned psychopaths, and even an electrocuted giraffe. That is the Gladiator 2 we remember!
But Paramount said "no": Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, Connie Nielsen, and Denzel Washington must shoulder this new edition. Derek Jacobi also appears as Senator Gracchus, and Ridley Scott is indeed directing… but that rap at the end makes it look like a sequel to Creed. Now, to wait. (November 22)
