Galactic Battles is a fan-made film that brings together ships and characters from Star Wars, Star Trek, Mass Effect and Halo. The movie will pit these franchises against each other while also forging new alliances in an intense intergalactic battle. In the video, we see Master Chief arriving at the battlefield, only to find a city in flames, victim of an attack by the Imperial Navy. Conscious of the enormous power of his enemy, Cortana appears on the scene to remind him that he is not alone. Then Master Chief jumps aboard the USS Enterprise and heads into battle.
In less than a minute, that scene goes by and we are all left wanting more. We want more! Galactic Battles is an Open Movie, a collaborative project open to anyone who wants to participate. The idea behind the film itself is to have a massive space battle with many of the ships belonging to the most popular science-fiction franchises. To give you an idea, imagine the following scene: A great battle between the USS Enterprise (Star Trek), the Borg (Star Trek), the Imperial Navy (Star Wars), the Cylons (Battlestar Galactica), the UNSC and the Covenant (Halo). Who would form alliances, what would such a battle be like, who would win? All those questions can be answered in Galactic Battles.
Crowdfunding for a Fan Dream
The idea was so well received that the project leaders decided to run a campaign through the site Indiegogo to raise funds from fans to make the movie. Unfortunately, the campaign ended a few days ago and did not reach the required amount. And when it seemed that this sci-fi wonder would never become a reality, the impact generated by the community in recent days made the team behind Galactic Battles decide to continue the campaign through its official site. The film needs $5,290 to be financed, and those who decide to contribute will have several benefits. Let's hope this time they succeed and that Galactic Battles becomes a reality that leaves us in awe.
