With just a month to go until the launch of Kratos's new adventure, a gameplay video for God of War has just leaked… and it looks phenomenal! Kratos and his son will be involved in numerous battles against all kinds of enemies.
There's no doubt that one of the most anticipated games is God of War. Scheduled to launch within a month, we've already seen a story trailer for this new installment that will star Kratos along with his son, Atreus, in the world of the Norse gods. But if something was missing, it was seeing the game in action, and now you can do so, as a gameplay video for the new God of War has been leaked. In that video, several scenes of Kratos and Atreus are seen in the middle of the action, being ambushed by several enemies, as well as a tough encounter against a huge creature.
Above all, what can be deduced from the gameplay of God of War is that there will be a variety of ways in which players can attack, which only makes it more surprising. For example, Kratos can launch an enemy into the air, throw his axe to immobilize him, and call on Atreus to attack with his bow, pulling off a powerful combo together. This magical battle axe, called the Leviathan Axe, can be thrown to attack and infused with elemental abilities, as seen in the video where Kratos freezes enemies.
A camp is also shown where Kratos can upgrade his weapons, and a final scene where Atreus can help you access new areas. Technically it's beautiful, highlighting the progression system (quite interesting) and the camera change (where the intensity of combat doesn't seem to be affected, resembling what was seen in Horizon Zero Dawn). Meanwhile, Sony released a commercial video where father and son venture through the wild Nordic lands, fighting to fulfill a deeply personal quest. God of War is being developed by SIE Santa Monica Studio and will be available exclusively on PlayStation 4 starting April 20, 2018.
