In a report published October 15, 2026, Jez Corden said an early, unfinished Xbox PC app build he tested on an Xbox Ally navigated more smoothly, loaded faster and had no cursor “rubber-banding” in his test. The hands-on report describes a more responsive feel, not timed performance results.

What changed in the early Xbox Ally build

Watch Jez Corden demonstrate the early Xbox PC app on Xbox Ally X, including controller navigation and browsing a library he says contains 1,500 games.

Corden described the existing app’s cursor as sometimes sticking for several seconds, with queued inputs then firing together. In the build he tested, he said that rubber-banding was gone and controller navigation felt smoother and more natural for a directional pad. He also reported faster loading in the user library, Game Pass library, store pages and individual game pages.

The accompanying Windows Central Gaming walkthrough identifies its device as an Xbox Ally X. Corden browses a library he says contains 1,500 games, giving a sense of the collection’s scale—not a standardized performance result.

Customization and artwork still had rough edges

In a Reddit reply, Corden said the early build had a “desktop” appearance mode, but he found its scaling too small on Xbox Ally X. He saw no other customization options at the time, and said artwork for non-Xbox games still looked wrong in the build he had seen.

Corden also said the early app retained most of the existing PC app’s features and had few new ones so far. He reported that additional features were planned, without specifying them.

Corden expected a PC Insider release toward the end of 2026

Corden wrote that he expected the app to reach Xbox Insiders on PC toward the end of 2026, while saying the ship date was unclear.
