MuyComputer reported on Oct. 25, 2026, that Microsoft documentation had been updated on Oct. 16 about intermittent connectivity affecting some Universal Print-compatible Konica Minolta printers. The account says jobs the printer does not retrieve within three days are marked canceled, and that Microsoft and Konica Minolta were investigating.
The Konica Minolta issue involves cloud connectivity
Some compatible Konica Minolta models reportedly lose communication with Universal Print intermittently. When a printer does not retrieve a submitted job within three days, that job is marked canceled, according to MuyComputer’s Oct. 25 account.
The KB5083769 regression affects a specific setup
MuyComputer tied a separate printing regression to update KB5083769, which it dates to April 14, 2026. The reported configuration involves printers installed originally on Windows 10 and later used on Windows 11 with a system-wide installation.
For a print attempt, the report describes error 0x80004005 or a disabled Print button. A test-page attempt from printer properties may instead return 0x000003e3 with an interrupted-I/O message. MuyComputer also reported that later updates, including Windows 11 version 26H2, might not resolve the regression.
Reported workarounds change how the printer is installed
For the affected setup, MuyComputer described removing and re-adding the printer in Windows Settings to create a per-user installation. For managed environments, it reported a PowerShell script for bulk conversion, including through tools such as Intune.
Universal Print is designed for cloud-based printing
At a Microsoft Ignite session on Nov. 20, 2024, Microsoft described Universal Print as a cloud printing service for Windows, macOS, mobile devices and other web-connected devices. Microsoft presented it as a way to print from different locations while reducing reliance on on-premises print servers.
