The new trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is packed with action, a rising Empire, a glimpse of Darth Vader, and the reason behind the film's title, among many other revelations.
The Trailer's Revelations
"Jyn, everything I do is to protect you. Say you understand." Thus begins the new trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, where we see Galen Erso being arrested by Imperial troops in front of his young daughter, Jyn Erso. Years later, Jyn's life takes a criminal turn linked to various causes that eventually land her in prison. But her luck changes when she is rescued by Rebel forces, who want to recruit her for a mission to find her father, the designer of the Death Star, and steal the plans.
An interesting detail revealed in this trailer is the film's title, Rogue One, which refers to a secret signal encoded within Jyn's small team that embarks on a journey to find Galen Erso. Beyond her relationship with her father, Jyn brings hope to the team by inspiring them when all seems lost.
On the other hand, the Galactic Empire isn't messing around, deploying its entire army of soldiers and machines to eliminate the Rebel forces. Darth Vader can even be seen briefly walking towards the end of the video.
