A few months ago we talked to you about Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the first film in a new series of standalone stories from the Star Wars universe. This time, taking advantage of the Star Wars Celebration event held in London, a new video was presented with a behind-the-scenes look, where we see part of the main cast and the development team talking about the film. The story takes place after the creation of the Galactic Empire but before the events of Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope. The protagonists are a band of rebel fighters who join together to carry out an extreme mission: stealing the plans of the Death Star before it can be used by order of the Emperor.
Among the protagonists of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story we have Jyn Erso, an impetuous and defiant young woman with a criminal past, but who ends up joining the Rebel Alliance in its fight against the Galactic Empire. This young woman, along with Captain Cassian Andor, will be in charge of leading the mission to steal the plans of the Death Star, the most powerful and destructive weapon owned by the Empire. We will also see a new squadron known as Death Troopers, soldiers who wear black armor and are part of the elite of the Empire's assault troops. The film features a cast led by Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Riz Ahmed, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Jiang Wen, Forest Whitaker, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, and Jonathan Aris, among others. Produced by Lucasfilm and directed by Gareth Edwards (Monsters, Godzilla), Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be released on December 16, 2016.
